National Botanical Gardens, Restaurant

I travelled along with my family to the National Botanic Gardens restaurant. We lined up and waited in line. I was looking at the menus, no hot Vegetarian options. So my Mom asked. I was told they have a Vegetarian Falafel. While the presentation was class, the falafel in question, was questionable. Very hard to chew, and very hard to masticate. I actually felt my throat getting "tired" from all that chewing. THe chips and salad were lovely.

My Dad and I headed down there for business purposes. The area is very well cleaned and laid out. No complaints about it. Staff was very nice and friendly, which I appreciated it. heheheh. Now while the menu was all but Vegetarianism, I asked she accommodated quite well.

I had the Tomato and BASil Soup and The Toasted Wrap.

The soup was exquisite. It was of creamy consistency served with two types of bread, brown and white bread. So lovely it was. heeheh. The bowl was a square kinda shape.

Then along came the next door of the Toasted Wrap. This came with a heap of salad, wedges in a tin can and the wraps in question. In the wraps itself, there was further salad.

Umi Falafel, Dame St., Dublin

Well I travelled along with my Vegetarian meetup group. We had been here in the past. I enjoyed my time. Food was exquisite. heheehe. The waiter knew his stuff and his dishes dietary. I was most impressed. He knew what was vegan and wasn't. Although the majority of the dishes on offer is Vegan, some are vegetarian. So I just wanted to make sure. Considering the place was bouncing, he was speculator. Ever since Delhi O' Delhi(Review here), closed down(RIP), I have been naming Umi Falafel as my FAV vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Umi is Arabic for "Mother".

Following is what I had

• The Lebanese Falafel
• Batata Hara/Wedges
• Lentil Soup
• Basbousa

The Lentil Soup, mmmmmmmm was heaven. Totally enjoyed it. Creamey(VEGAN) creamey soup.
I had asked the waiter what was the soup of the day and he reploied Brocoli Soup of which was I wasn't the best of. SO I chose a nicer soup of which I was glad. hahahah

I asked for a side order of Wedges or in Arabic BAtata Hara. They were a bit dry, spicyness was "Just Right". Not too hot, and not too bland(opposite of spicy), it was JUST RIGHT.

The Lebanese Falafel was filled in a wrap style or as they call it a Falafel. Filled with styuffiny type, Tomato, Cucumber, pickles, parsely and tahini sauce. It was scrumptious. IT would be suitable as a lunch. It was heaven. mmmmm.

I asked for a dessert menu. I quickly looked and chose Basbousa.

The Hungry Mexican Restaurant

Well what can I say. I totally enjoyed my experience at this particular restaurant. I was greeted by lovely staff. The Hungry Mexican is located within the Bodkins Bar on Bolton St., I headed onwards. So then I was looking at the Menu. It was a bit hard to understand., but once I was explained to, I was sailing. So my first course was Stuffed Aubergine. It was scrumptiously. It contained the actual aubergine, that was roasted and the soya mince and salsa atop. I then got Taco as my main course. This was by far heaven. I was more than happy. hahhaha. The Soya mince of which was part of a choice and the salsa too was in the Taco, like a little sandwich kinda thing. It was all totally heaven. I was on "Cloud Nine". hahaha. Then for me personally of which for what ever reasons, I was the only one ordered Dessert. I ordered Curro. It was lovely. Beautifully dressed. It was VERY sweet alrite. Oh and this restaurant is 100% Vegan and Vegetarian. I overheard that the Owner is a Vegan and the wife is Vegetarian. Something like that.

Now the only fault I would have of the serving is that BOTH Starters AND Mains were served., which I kinda found weird., like some people had two plates and it was getting a bit untidy and messy. And the location where we were, we were very tight.

All this for €20 well technically €19.85. I said he could keep the change.

I popped along with a Vegetarian Group to this Restaurant. Its a pop-up restaurant meaning, that it won't be situated at a particular address permanently, it is due to close down here in Rathmines and hopefully it'll will have been found another home for the time being. Anyways getting back to the review at hand, It's very poorly sign posted, I was advised that the sign post was small, well how true is that. Upon arriving inside eventually, I found the environment to be very negative, very down and out building its in. When I arrived, I was shown the menu. The price is a BIG plus. I was most appreciative for that, for a guy or even a person who has a low budget. However with this mind, I can see why the price was low. I had a three course meal for €20 which is acceptable. However I'll go into further detail.

My first course was: Chickpeas and Kale Koftas paraley sioli/fennel and apple salad. This wasn't too bad. However as I later learned the Koftas or as the American's call it CornDog(Not sure if that's meat thou), I immediately began to devour it. It tasted exactly like the one I had as a kid in Romania Orphanage. The salad thou I found was very acidic, it was burning my lips etc., and even upsetting my stomach.
My next course was the main: Lentils and Aubergine Meatballs Creamy fennel and Dill sauce/garlic crostinni/pomegranate salad. The main wasn't too bad. Again very acidic. The bread was slightly hard, however I have since explained that it was roasted.

And my third and final course: was the the dessert aka the Lemon and Poppy Seed Cake. This was absolutely stunning. Enjoyed it immensely.
And as my last part of the review, I must give credit to the chef, the presentation of each course, was outstanding. I was most impressed. So my favorite meal, was NONE, but I most enjoyed the Koftas, as part of the Starter

My Mom treated me to a lovely Choppy salad. The price was EXBORINTATN. But the salad I got very well worth the price. I still feel the price far to high for a salad. hahah. The system, I really adored and appreciated thou. So when I went to the counter, I was asked which lettuce or salad. Then they chopped it right in front of my eyes,  then boxed it all up. When the first step lady emptied the salad, I was like what up... hahahah. I was asked to choose 3 toppings ie salads each salad extra is .30c extra. I asked what dressing is Vegan. So I'm delighted to report that my very first VEGAN Salad was had today. hahaha. The staff member consulted which dressing was Vegan, Balsamic, some other yoke and French Dressing.. So for my salad, I had a House Salad, for my 3 dressings, I got Black and Green Olives, Tomatoes, Onions, Tofu, Sundried Tomatoes,

I popped along with a group of Vegetarians and some Vegan friends. Although the food was questionably delicious, the staff thou was highly questionable. I was with a group of about 20 or so if even that. Clearly they couldn't handle the amount. Yet the group in Grand Canal Dock after a theatre production, last time, the staff there were very much able to handle the crowds. SO getting back to Baggot St., I first started off with Bruschetta Originale "Milano". I was wanting a vegan version of this. The person opposite me who is a vegan, was helping. I was enquiring with her a few times. I asked the waiter if he knows its vegan, he didn't know the meaning of the word. The bruschetta was lovely. No question. Next was the main which was Veneizan. Now this is a pizza. I assumed it was vegetarian. I only picked it because .30c was being donated to a good cause in Honduras or somewhere. The pizza itself was alrite. The crust was quite hard. Next was onto the the dessert, which was Leggera Sorbet. This was lovely. heheheeh. Out of the whole three, I deliciously enjoyed the Bruschetta. I then enjoyed a delicious Mint Green Tea, that my mate on my previous outing enjoyed. It was heaven. mmmmm

My friend and I went here after a performance. The staff were a pleasure to be served by. The names on the menu were very much Italian after all its an Italian chain. heheeh. I first started off with a dish with tomatoes in a circular shape with Pesto on it and a Buffalo or Bula in Italian Cheese. Oh it was heaven. Then it was time for the main course. This by far was delicious especially the Garlic Bread. I was offered this with a Al Forne. Again I can't quite recall the names of the dishes. Then afterwards, for dessert I had a Tiramasu and a scrumtpious Super Fruit Green Tea. Awww it was heaven.

I traveled along to the restaurant with a group on the momentous Occasion, Pride 2015. I was given a menu, with a main course and the starters were very small writing, ie NOT important. hahaah. I looked at a Veggie Breakfast. I wasn't impressed with its ingredients. So I said I'd leave it. I asked the waitress, which she was very kind, if I could order TWO Starters to make it a main. ahahah. So I enquired a Soup which is a Leak and Lentil PANCHETTO, something like that. Now the waitress explained that's ham. I've personally NEVER heard of a ham let alone a meat dish in a soup, other than the simple Chicken etc., . So I had to make do with Rocket Salad AND Dip Bread. Now both were lovely, except, the Olives' I ain't sure "are there suppose to be STONES" in either olives, the red and Green????? So to sum up, Service EXCELLENT, Food CRAP.

I went out with my family to celebrate Father's Day ahead of the actual day. I was quite taken aback from the grounds. Absolutely lovely. I had been here at the Castle as a kid. However that said, we all went tot he restaurant. My folks had a Chicken Pie and Salad each and I had just plain salad. My sis had Chicken Caesar's Salad and Soup. I'll just review MY meal for the purpose of this review. I found my salad VERY strong, which is quite abnormal if you ask me. When I arrived with my folks and my sister, we were met with a busy restaurant, which is a touristy spot. However the layout of the food which I was told in advance, was so confusing. My mom asked for Vegetarian dish for me, the woman told me twice and I STILL didn't understand what she was saying. She was completely Irish no bother, I just didn't understand what she was selling. As far as I gather all I could see was just salad. Yet my sister got soup. She told me it was very well hidden. I could gather that myself, cause I couldn't see nor site of it. As my Mom couldn't finish her Salad meal, I finished. It wasn't as bad as mine, but still tasted very "weird". My mom went to explain the oils they use something like that. And for the exorbitant price of €68 for 4 ppl and the above food plus two soft drinks????

Great food and service. Mannerism great considering an event. Like what I mean is, the event was on, yet they were able to handle it. Very well done, I says. I was overwhelmed. hahaha. Price thou was very high for just 3 items. €20.

Green Land Cafe, Fairview

Food was wonderful. I have been to Green Land Cafe in the past, both with my sis and my mother. Today, my Pops joined us for the first time. Parking was a breeze. Situated close by where I live. We ordered our food. The service was a disgrace. I totally enjoyed my food, no question, am sure my clan the rest of them, can agree. But, never have I had such a service disgrace. Firstly, We received our starters ie the Soup which was initially supposedly be Vegetable Soup, however we since were told it was Tomato and Basil Soup. I didn't mind either. Then when the soup was given to us, the waitress never put knives and forks or even a spoon. Were we expected to eat like monkeys or what?, When we requested the knife, the waitress started to get a bit nervous, I could tell. Which don't get me wrong, I felt for her, but like come on for a PROMINENCE place? with prices quite high??? So my mother said, we'll hand out the knives and forks. Then came the main course, Both my parents received the dish. And then my sister. So when it came to my order, I ordered a VEGETABLE Ciabbata which is a vegetarian dish. I received a different order with MEAT. I was totally disgusted. My mom and my sister stopped me from eating it. I thought the white pudding was actually Hash brown. I was totally disgusted. So bottomline.

Most impressed with The Food Room. I was asked what I would like. The girl didn't know anything about Veganism. So I was put onto someone else. By golly, did she not know her stuff. She asked if I would like honey or no honey. As some vegans take honey. However honey is from an animal ie Bees. SO I said No thanks. I was amazed to the point I even asked if she herself was Vegan. She wasn't. I was blown. I would however have to point out the price, is quite exorbitant alrite.

My friend and I were greeted, to a wonderful welcome. I had the Falafel Burger and a Smoothie. All was delicious. Price was most reasonable too.

Govinda's, Middle Abbey St

My friend and I popped along to Govinda's in Middle Abbey St. Great selection. Its a buffet style, whereby you choose what you want, and pay a certain price. Which is quite reasonable too. Too much hippy for my liking. One customer, although could have been a staff member thought i was a girl. Perhaps with my rainbow Scarfy. So two issues were at hand, a bit too homophobic for my liking. Like the person who accused me of  being a "woman" when he says "ladys first", then the staff member BEHIND the counter said something, then the fact that its a Christian type of restaurant. The food thou, very delicious. Great vegan offering. My friend thou advised strongly that Govinda's is very CHRISTIAN like hence "the hippy" lifestyle type. While personally I have no issues with any persons, I only take up issue, if a person actually accuses me of any sorts. So bottomline, I would not recommend Govinda's on Middle Abbey St(Not sure about other branches thou), for ANY gay people. Too christian for my liking. If you want Vegan food, there are plenty of other places in Dublin's Fair City.

Diary 21st December 2014

Well today wasn't as bad yesterday. Still reeling from yesterday's events. I got up to see my sis. She wasnt feeling well. So I headed to my mates Todd. He treated me to a lovely Meal. On my way to him there was a lad trying to steal Sammy 2. I gripped onto it. Might I add that he was cycling and hence fell off the bike. N told me "u fucking. ..."  it Actually cheered me up. Knowing I Maybe attacked or whatever I still felt cheered up. Hahah. So I arrived at Todd's. While waiting for him to come down there was a mother and baby going in his Apartment block. The child literally waved at me. I thought it was so cute and adorable. We then headed to Cucinas. Had a beautiful meal. He wanted to do shopping in tesco. We went their. on the way Todd was suspicious of a guy attempting to pick pocket me and I would not mind but I had the phone in my jeans pocket. We dispersed and he was looking for his keys.
I then got a call from my sis saying she's grand. So I headed to hers. i stayed not too long.
